Kicking Off the Season

My friend Becky once said that she feels like she's not a "real" mom unless she makes her children's Halloween costumes. I feel the same way about Christmas presents. If you are so inclined, you should check out the tutorials under Sew, Mama, Sew's Homemade Holidays label. (However, if you are on my giftee list, you should not check out the tutorials). And if you are a regular reader or here from Sew, Mama, Sew's Giveaway Day, I'll cut to the chase.

I love these bags, created from an online tutorial. They are a beautiful alternative to plastic grocery sacks and even store-brand poly sacks, and hold about 3 times as much as well. I keep a stack in my car and one folded up in my purse. I'm giving away a set of two coordinating cotton bags:

To be entered to win these, simply leave a comment here. Be sure to include your e-mail address so that I can contact you. I'll choose a winner randomly, and I'll ship to Canada and within the U.S.  I'll leave comments open for this contest until December 6th.

Oooh -- love the bags! Was just going to look, but since I see butterflies on one, I have to leave a comment! (caheinz, you should be able to contact me if necessary!)

Those bogs could really come in handy!

These bags are really pretty! I need to get in the habit of carrying a similar one in my purse. Often, anymore, I just refuse a bag if I only have one or two items. It would be so much nicer to have one of these to throw my things in!

Dee said...

What awesomely green bags! I use fabric/recyclable bags or no bags wherever I go!

mayhem5@softhome.net is where you can reach me if I win! Which would be awesome!

Merry Christmas!

I'm a huge fan of fabric bags. (I'm giving some away on my blog, too.) It would be nice to also have a few made by somebody else, though!

Kris said...

I made some of these as gifts last year, and I kept one. They work great, but I always seem to need another...

Lovely bags! Keeping one in your purse is a good idea. I keep mine in my trunk and often have to go back to the car from the grocery store because I have forgotten them!

Very nice bags! I'm getting better at bringing my own when we shop -- these would be much classier than the ones I'm using now!

What a great idea for a giveaway. I'd love to have some reusable bags (good for the environment and my wallet - a lot of the stores are giving cents discounts on my purchase if I bring my own bag and those extra pennies add up!).

I made myself one of those bags from some fabric I had left from a sheet that I just loved. The bag finally wore out because I used it as my diaper bag. I stuck the bag away though because I love the fabric. I love both those bags, but especially the butterflies--so pretty!
Thanks for the giveaway!
